Esther Kinsky



Esther Kinsky, born 1956 in Engelskirchen, is an author and translator working in Polish, Russian and English. In 2009, she won the Paul Celan prize for translation into German and she has also published numerous novels and books of poetry. Her novel, River, won the French-German Franz Hessel Prize for Contemporary Literature. In 2018, Kinsky won the Leipzig Book Fair Prize for her novel, Grove. Kinsky lives between Berlin and Friuli.
