Malaika Mahlatsi

Malaika Mahlatsi, born 1991 in Johannesburg, is an author and essayist. Alongside her studies in geography at Rhodes University in Grahamstown, South Africa, she regularly writes for magazines like the Sunday Sun. As an author she achieved her breakthrough with her debut novel “Memoirs of a Born Free: Reflections on the New South Africa by a Member of the Post-apartheid Generation” (Seven Stories Press, New York City, 2018). She lives in Pretoria.
