Thomas Hummitzsch, born in Meißen in 1979, is a freelance journalist, press officer, critic and blogger. He studied German, Politics and Sociology in Munich, Berlin and Paris. He is the head of the press department of the Berlin Brandenburg Humanist Association. From 2010 to 2013 he was editor-in-chief of »diesseits« - the humanistic magazine. Later on, he headed the migration policy newsletter »migration & bevölkerung«. He has been blogging regularly at www.intellectures.de for 10 years. His articles are published in magazines such as Rolling Stone, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Die Welt, Tagesspiegel, Taz and Friday. In 2009 »Freedom. I don't understand the word because I never had to do without it. «(Verlag Dr. Koester, Berlin, 2009). Since school he has been passionate about photography. Hummitzsch lives in Berlin.
