Turon24 is the name of the first non-state-owned press agency Uzbekistan. Turon24 delivers news from Central Asia in English, Russian and Uzbek. More than 200 journalists work in the editorial office. The agency has correspondents in Central Asia, Afghanistan and Russia. In the past, press freedom in Central Asia has been frequently under pressure. Uzbekistan ranks 165th out of 180 in the press freedom ranking of Reporters Without Borders.
