In Singapore, squads of mosquito police are fighting back against the insects which transmit dangerous diseases such as malaria and dengue fever. The officials inform the population on how to reduce the spread of insects. In addition, they control apartments and look for breeding grounds. In the event of negligence, fines of up to € 125 may be levied.
